Abortos Por Pildoras o Cirugia

The two ways to end a pregnancy are in-clinic abortion and the abortion pill. Having an unintended pregnancy is quite common, and many people choose to have a termination procedure done. Only you know what the best option is for your situation. Everybody has their own valid rationales for terminating a pregnancy. Some of the reasons are:

  • They want to be the best parent possible to children they already have
  • They are not emotionally or financially ready to be a parent
  • They want to finish school or achieve other goals before becoming a parent
  • They are in an abusive relationship
  • They are not in a relationship with a person they want to have a baby with
  • The pregnancy is bad for their health

The caring medical professionals at Queens Gynecology Services can answer your questions and provide support and expert care once you decide to end your pregnancy. We do surgical and in-clinic abortions. Both types are safe and effective. Details about the procedures are below:

In-Clinic Abortion: One of our doctors, nurses or other health care providers will provide the right guided information for your medical procedure.

Surgical Abortion: You can take pills that cause your pregnancy to end without any medical risks, such as, excessive bleeding or infections that can be treated with antibiotics.

Abortion is one of the safest surgical procedures in existence. In fact, 3 in 10 women in the United States will have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old. Abortion does not require a hospital stay unless you have a medical condition that requires you to be monitored or if you have complications. You will have follow up medical care after a surgical abortion. One of our health care professionals will watch you for at least 30 minutes after the surgery, checking for abdominal pain and unusual bleeding. If you want to use family planning services you can do so 2 weeks after the procedure has been done.  If you have the following symptoms, you should see your health care professional:

  • Severe pain
  • Fever of 100.4 F or higher
  • Bleeding through more than four or five pads per hour or more than 12 pads in 24 hours. If you experience more bleeding you can call the clinic at anytime.

If you were a victim of rape or incest, you may have entirely different feelings and emotions undergoing an abortion. We offer counseling to help you work through your emotions and cope with your feelings. The counseling process may provide referrals if you need ongoing support.
